Obituary

URBAN, Robert J. 88, of Tampa, passed away Aug. 6, 2013, following a brief illness. Born and raised in Monongahela, PA, Bob was a World War II veteran of the Coast Guard. Following his military service, he joined the Pennsylvania Railroad as a fireman. After a 10 year career with the railroad he joined the U.S. Department of Transportation as a railroad inspector. He retired from that service in 1990. He was a 35 year member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Bob was an avid golfer, and for many years attended the annual reunion of his Coast Guard shipmates. He was a member of Knights of Columbus and the VFW Post 1409 in Monongahela, PA. Preceded in death by his parents, a sister and three brothers. Bob is survived by his wife of 44 years, Mira Bakale Urban; and several nieces & nephews. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, Aug. 8th, at 10:30 am. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the Mass. Interment will take place in the Grandview Cemetery in Mone-ssen, PA.
