Obituary

FREELAND, Robert Judson "Bob" of Tampa, was born Jan. 8, 1936. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Evelyn Freeland; brothers, John and Richard Freeland; and niece, Cathi. He is survived by his loving son, Eddie Rodriguez (Vanessa); his granddaughter, Jalyssa; sister-in-law, Rea; his nephews, John, Michael, Kenneth, Edward Freeland; and his niece, Christine Freeland; members of his extended family Catalina Gonzalez, Wanda Gonzalez (Bobby), Monse-rratti Flecha (Victor), Linda Rodriguez; countless nieces, nephews and friends; and his faithful four-legged companion, Leo. To those who knew him, Bob was an angel sent from God, who will always be remembered for his candor, outgoing personality and giving spirit. He was a very accomplished person, who spent his 78 years serving others and bettering himself. His service began with his Country, as a Sgt. in the Marine Corps; he was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Bob continued to serve others as a school teacher at Bridgeton High School in New Jersey, where he retired after 30 years of service. During this time, he also served as a mentor to the youth and spent 30 summers teaching Summer Camp in the Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. Bob also served many years as a bus driver for the New Jersey Transit system and the Head Start Program in Parke-rsburg, VA, where he moved upon retiring to be closer to his son. Playing off of his jolly and inquisitive nature, Bob returned to school, became a Private Investigator and founded Santa Claus Private Investigations. He loved giving back to the community by playing Santa during the Holiday season. A man of many talents, Bob's personal accomplishments also included teaching himself how to read music/play several instruments and completing pilot school to receive his wings to fly single engine planes. For the last 23 years, Bob was everything to his loved ones and was the best dad a young man could ever ask for. Bob spent his last years in the care of his son, which will forever be fondly remembered. A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, May 17, between 2-4 pm, at Boza & Roel Funeral Home, 4730 North Armenia Avenue, Tampa. Services will begin at 4 pm, at the funeral home, followed by full Military Honors. In lieu of flo-wers, memorial contributions may be made to a . Cheers to Bob, I love you Dad!
