CALLARIK, Steve Charles Sr. 91, born July 4, 1922 in Bridgeport, OH, pas-sed away Friday, April 4, 2014. He was predeceased by his wife, Elisabeth in October 2012. Survived by one son, Steve Callarik Jr.; daughter-in-law, Beverly; one sister, Anna Clark of Homerville, OH; two brothers, John Callarik Sr. of Bridgeport, OH, George Callarik of Colerain Pike, OH; three grandchildren, Brie, Carli, Angel; and three great-grandchildren, Colby, Brenn, and Paisley. He enlisted in the Army at age 17. He served his country in WWII, received the Purple Heart in 1950 after being wounded in Korea, and went on to serve in Vietnam. He retired Sgt. Major in 1972 from the US Army and went to work with the US Postal Service, retiring after 12 years. He and his wife moved to Sun City in 1990 and spent the next 20 years enjoying family, friends, and many social activities. In 2012 they moved to Hiawassee, GA and enjoyed the beautiful home and mountains with his family. He loved sports with a passion, especially the Yankees and was a true American Patriot. He will be forever missed, but never forgotten. We will hold him in our hearts always. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Wounded Warrior Project.
