ROSENBURG, Dr. Stuart June 27, 1967 - Nov. 19, 2013. I am saddened to announce the passing of Dr. Stuart Rosenburg, one of our local veterinarians and former owner of Bayshore Animal Clinic. Though Stuart would want us to find courage and shed no tear, we have lost a dear friend far too soon in life. Our loss is heaven's gain; and we find solace in knowing that Stuart is in a better place and free from pain. He battled for almost two years against an expectation of months, he showed strength in his fight, humor in his pain, and grace in his passing. We have lost a great veterinarian, great friend, and his profession has lost a leader who was willing to stand up and be counted. From the age of nine, Stuart wanted to be a veterinarian, and began his journey at Penn State University, graduating with a degree in Animal Bioscience. He then attended the University of Tennessee for medical school, graduating as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Aspiring to become a zoo veterinarian was just one of his many goals he reached, serving as zoo veterinarian at Silver Springs Attraction in 1997 for four years and Lowry Park Zoo in November 2000 for two years. He was a longtime owner of Bayshore Animal Clinic and Stuart was also a proud member of the Chi Institute of Acupuncture, serving as a teaching assistant since 2008. He was frequently published in both AAZV and AAVMA. He loved skydiving, foreign travel, scuba diving, and college football (Go Nittany Lions and Vols!!!). Though Stuart could and would ruffle some feathers, he could be the kindest soul in the room and his love and compassion for all four/two legged creatures was unquestionable. It is said that those who have passed continue living in the memories of those they loved and Stuart lives on through our memories. Peace and Blessing our dear friend as you journey through the cosmos - Fly Free Stuart. Celebrating a life too short but fully lived! Please join Gayle Marie wife, the Merrill/Rosenburg family, Miss Chunderhead, Miss Pid, Ghangis Goat, George, Mr. Man,(animals), Fraternity brothers the Omicron Chapter of the Phi Kappa Tau (Penn State), Skydive brothers/sisters, Tennessee veterinarian (Vols), and friends for a Celebration of Life for Dr. Stuart Rosenburg, December 14 from 4-7 pm at Aja - 290 South Meridian Avenue Tampa.
