JONES, Thomas Towers 63, of Tampa, went home to be with his Lord June 5, 2013 as the result of a heart attack. He was born May 2, 1950, in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, to the late Helen and F. Chandler Jones. Tom graduated from the University of Florida with a degree in chemical engineering and obtained his master's from Miami University in chemical oceanography. On Dec. 27, 1975, he married his loving wife, Tricia. Tom was an active member of First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace where he was involved in missions and AWANA's. He was passionate for sharing his love of Jesus with everyone he met. Tom was an avid sports fan, but his love for the Florida Gators was known by all who knew him. Tom worked as a chemical engineer for AECOM and was currently on assignment in Muscat, Oman. He enjoyed boating, camping, football and spending time with family and friends. Tom is survived by his beloved wife, Tricia; daughter, Kathryn; sons, Dustin and Christopher; brother, Chandler; sisters, Dorothy Rumenik, Becky Sarro, and Helen Costa. Also surviving, his sole grandson Ezekiel "Zeke" Jones. A memorial service will be held Monday, June 17, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace at 3 pm. A private burial ceremony will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to First Baptist Church of Temple Terrace or AIG (Answers in Genesis).
