COMPTON, Vesta B. age 88, died on March 13, 2013, in Seminole. She was an art teacher in the Pinellas County School System and a minister's wife. She was born in Oak Park, IL. She attended Cornell College, in Iowa, and earned a B.A. degree at Northwestern University. Vesta earned a M.A. degree from the University of South Florida. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of St. Petersburg, and later at Pasadena Community Church. She served as Worship Chairperson and on several other committees at both churches. She made numerous worship banners and taught workshops at both churches. Vesta was prede-ceased by her husband, Rev. James E. Compton. Survived by her daughters, Charlotte Compton, Ruthanne Dorlon (Robert) and Barbara Posey (David). She is survived by her brother, Rev. Wayne Bond (Marie); and sister, Rev. Charlotte Lewis (Sam). She had nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was also expecting two more great-grandchildren. The Funeral will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at 1 pm in Goodwin Chapel at Pasadena Community Church, with internment to follow at Garden Sanctuary in Seminole.
