LEWIS, William Franklin "Bill", 94, of Eastman, GA, and formerly of Tampa, died March 21, 2013, at Serenity Hospice in Dublin, GA. Memorial services will be held at 3 pm Saturday, March 23, at First Presbyterian Church Eastman, Georgia with interment in Garden of Memories, Tampa. A World War II veteran, he served in the 8th Air Force in England and flew 57 missions in B-17s. His medals included a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star, and a Distinguished Flying Cross. He was later stationed At MacDill AFB. His second career was as a certified Landscape Architect, Agronomist, and Environmental Engineer. During part of this career he served as the head of Roads and Grounds at MacDill AFB. A member of the Tampa Primitive Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife of 35 years, Mary Nell Brannen Lewis. Survivors: Roger Lewis (Becky), Robynn Holland (Steve); Randall Lewis (Kathy), and Phillip Lewis (Vicki) ; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
