GOGGIN, William "Bill" age 74, passed away on Friday evening, Jan. 10, 2014, in Muskegon, MI. Bill was born June 2, 1939 in Madison, WI, to Ralph & Marguerite (Leannah) Goggin. He was a 1957 graduate of Muskegon Catholic Central. In 1958, Bill enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in Germany with the Military Police. Upon his return from service, Bill joined the Muskegon Police Department. He received his degree in criminology from Michigan State University in 1974. Bill went on to become a Michigan State Trooper and later worked in the Michigan Bureau of Licensing and Regulation, retiring in 1993. On Jan. 4, 1992 he married the former Nancy L. Goethals in Muskegon and they spent many years enjoying their time together in St. Petersburg. Bill is survived his loving wife, Nancy; her children, Tim (Ann) Conzemius, Julie (Kelly) Lindberg and Todd (Kristi) Conz-emius; seven stepgrandchildren; sister-in-law, Marcia Goggin; one niece and several nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Dennis Goggin. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held 3 pm, Saturday, Jan. 25th, at the Sytsema Funeral Home, The Lee Chapel, 6291 S. Harvey Street, Norton Shores, MI, (231)798-1100, with Rev. Fr. Anthony M. Pelak as celebrant and full military rites afforded under the auspices of the VFW Muskegon County Council. VISITATION will be one hour prior to the service (2-3 pm).
