Zen ANTHONY

Obituary

ANTHONY, Zen 83, of Tampa, entered into eternal rest on Nov. 2, 2013. Born in Morphou, Cyprus on Dec. 13, 1929, he arrived in this country on New Years Day, 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, obtaining his U.S. citizenship and was honorably discharged as a Corporal. He was preceded in death by his sister, Panayiota Nicolaou; and brother, Andrew Koudouna. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mimi Anthony; his children, Greg Anthony (Diane) and Andrea Hart (Jerry); two grandchildren, Alex Anthony and Alexis Hart; sister-in-law, Dora Koudouna; nephews, Tony Koudouna and Chris Nicolaou (Dee); and his nieces, Skip Higdon and Elpida Olsen (Scott). Zen (known as Chef Tony) came to Tampa in 1961 from New York State and was a well known Executive Chef in the Tampa Bay area for over 40 years. He was loved by all and will be missed by his family and friends. Graveside services will be held at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, on Wednesday, Nov. 13th at 1 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to LifePath Hospice of Tampa. Special thanks to the "Burgundy Team" for the care and compassion given during his illness.
