Aldo "Bob" Garino Obituary
Garino, Aldo Bob age 83, of Granite City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Christian Northeast Hospital, St. Louis, MO. Bob was born on May 7, 1930 in Coello, IL, a son to the late Lawrence and Marianna (Leone) Garino. Bob was a United States Air Force veteran who proudly served his country. On September 6, 1957, Bob married Lucille Taylor, the love of his life in Waterloo, IL, and she preceded him in death on March 4, 2006. He had worked at General Motors in St. Louis, MO, as an inspector with quality control, retiring after thirty three years. Bob enjoyed gardening, watching all sports and he was definitely an avid Cardinals Baseball fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends, whom he adored. Bob will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him. In addition to his parents and loving wife, Bob was preceded in death by his son, John Picantine; and his sister, Emma Margherio. Bob is survived by his loving children, Marianne (David) Milton of Granite City, IL and Dee (Mike) Mercer of Herrin, IL; grandchildren, Missy Milton, Michael Milton, David (Pam) Mercer and Tracy (Todd) Cornelius; great grandchildren, Tyler Cornelius, Taylor Cornelius, Kelsie Howard and Tiffany (Jake) McWhorter; extended family and friends. Services: Private family graveside services will be held at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to or .
