Monks, Anne (nee Gaddy), of Eureka, MO (formerly of Pine Bluff, AR), fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church passed away Monday after a brave battle with cancer. Adored daughter of the late Guy and Mary (nee Klim) Gaddy, niece of the late Charles Russell Gaddy and darling sister of the late Mary Elizabeth Beth McCombs. Anne was a high school and junior high school teacher for forty years. Anne was retired from CBC High School in Clayton, MO, where in addition to teaching she led the LaSallian Leadership mentoring program for many years. Anne was active in her parish at Most Sacred Heart in Eureka, teaching PSR for almost twenty years. Admired wife of Chris, cherished mother of Elizabeth Monks, Daniel Monks (Lauren) and precious Nonny to grandson Brayden; beloved aunt to William McCombs (Jamie) of White Hall, AR; Michael McCombs of Pine Bluff, AR; Claire Heppner Hooker (Bryan) of Greenwood Village, CO; Natalie Monks of St. Louis, MO; Sasha and Joshua Monks of Arlington, MA. Dear great-aunt, cousin, daughter-in-law, sister-inlaw and, most especially, friend. Anne was known for her grace and generous spirit; always attentive to the things that were important to those around her. In addition to her passion for teaching, Anne loved to be with friends and family, and she particularly loved to travel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network or to a charity of your choosing. Services: A memorial mass will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Most Sacred Heart in Eureka, MO at 10:00 a.m.
