Buddy Blattner
Robert G. "Buddy" Blattner, the radio voice of the NBA's St. Louis Hawks in the 1950s and a longtime baseball broadcaster, died today at his home in Chesterfield after a long illness. He was 89.

Mr. Blattner also played parts of five seasons in the major leagues and was a world table tennis champion. He founded the "Buddy Fund" in 1962, an organization that continues to supply athletic equipment to underprivileged children in the St. Louis area.
