Dennis J. Moakley Obituary
Moakley, Dennis J. Monday, April 21, 2014. Dennis is survived by his wife and best friend, Kitty (nee Connelly); son, Brien (Carol), and daughter, Beth Keeling (Craig); grandsons Alex and Dayton Keeling; sister, Therese Otey (Rich); nephew Scott Otey (Stacy), niece Kathy Lindquist, and many loving family members, nieces, nephews, and friends. Dennis was a former St. Louis City police officer and St. Louis County detective. He earned his degree mid-life and retired from Hussmann Corporation as the engineering-sales liaison. He performed in community plays, was active in JFL, and was the Voice of the St. Charles West Warriors for 11 years. He was a member of the Backstoppers. To those who knew or even met him once, Dennis was larger than life. He brought joy to the world through impeccably timed humor resulting in extreme laughter. He was a bold, creative, wild man who lived fearlessly. Dennis will long be remembered and honored for his courageousness as his presence lives on in the hearts of so many. A private celebration will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to Washington University Cochlear Implant Program, 660 So. Euclid, Campus Box 8115, St. Louis, MO 63110 or Backstoppers, 10411 Clayton Rd, Ste A5, St. Louis, MO 63131.
