Truex, Dr. Dorothy A. 97, of Little Rock, Arkansas died on Apr 18, 2013. Born Sedalia, MO, on Oct 6, 1915, to the late Rev. Chester & Madge Truex, she earned her AB from William Jewell College, MA from The University of Missouri, Doctorate from Columbia University, NY, and post doctoral study at Harvard University. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Everett P Truex , and nephew Robert Truex; she is survived by a brother, John Truex, and wife Doris, nephew Richard who has three children, Chip, Victoria, and Alexandra, and a niece Charlotte Mair and her husband, Mike Mair, and son, Jeffrey. She held presidencies of local, state, regional and national organizations. She was a member of Pulaski Heights Baptist Church. Her career included serving as the Dean of Women at Northwest Missouri State University, Mercer University of Macon, Georgia, The University of Oklahoma, and ViceChancellor of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Among her many award she was a William Jewell College outstanding alumna, a hundred Outstanding Women of Arkansas, and outstanding member of the National Association of Women Deans, Administrators, and Counselors. She was also listed in several Who's Who books. Services: Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 27, 2013 at Second Baptist Church, Liberty, Missouri 300 E. Kansas Street, Liberty Missouri. Burial will follow at Fairveiw Cemetery in Liberty Missouri. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the .
