Nash, Dorothy Jane D.J. Atwood of Jefferson City, Missouri passed away Wednesday, January 22, 2014. D.J. was born on November 12, 1941 in St. Louis, Missouri, a daughter of George and Rebecca Rood Atwood. She graduated in 1959 from Mary Institute, attended Colorado College, and married Wade Louis Nash in July 1976. D.J. worked at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the 1972 Committee to Re-Elect the President, and at Rainbow Village while in St Louis. After marriage, she moved to Jefferson City and worked at The Weekly newspaper, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys and Missouri Mansion Preservation, Inc. She was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church, Jefferson City, and served as president of Capital Arts in Jefferson City; as a board member of the Historic City of Jefferson Oral History Project; and as a member of Century Study Club. She was a strong supporter of the public schools, and volunteered in various capacities. She also served as a docent at the Missouri Governor's Mansion and was a founding member of the Evening Rotary Club in Jefferson City. Survivors include: her husband Wade Nash; one daughter, Kate Nash and her husband Chuck Stepleton and their son Walter of St. Louis; one son, Andrew Nash and his wife Divya Cherian of New York City. Services: A memorial service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Jefferson City on Saturday, March 1, 2014, at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Grace Episcopal Church or to Capital Arts in Jefferson City. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of FREEMAN MORTUARY.
