Lorraine Orr Obituary
Orr, Lorraine Peithmann (nee Peithmann) of Ladue, MO, born April 3, 1921, passed away June 19, 2013. Beloved wife (58 years) of the late Clyde Pope Orr; loving mother of Judy (Carl) Miller, Randy (Jill) Orr, Kathy (Randy) Smith, and Robert (Lisa) Orr; dear grandmother of Douglas and Kelsey Miller, Christopher and Lindsay Orr, Chelsea and Jason Orr, April (Will) Pyle; dear greatgrandmother of David Pyle; dear sister of the late Ortheldo A. (Winona) Peithmann; dear sisterin-law of the late Virginia Orr and Melba (Bill) Guynes; dear aunt of Alice Marian (Greg) Kropp, Robert Peithman, Bill (Lisa) Peithmann, Margaret (Sam) Middeoni, Bill (Karen) Guynes, Jr.; dear greataunt, cousin and friend to many. Lorraine was born on the family farm near Hoyleton, IL. She attended Centralia High School, Rubicam Business College, St. Louis University and the University of Illinois. Lorraine was a 57 year member of Webster Groves Presbyterian Church. She rang handbells, was a deacon, and in her 50th year in choir. She sang with the choir in Carnegie Hall in 1988, and Scotland in 2004. Lorraine served on the Volunteer Board of Goodwill Industries Services (GIVS), as Vice President of Membership. In 2001 she received the Goodwill Lifetime Achievement Award. She served on the Volunteer Board of the St. Louis Symphony Orchestra and the Girl Scout Council of Greater St. Louis where she received a Lifetime Achievement Award. Lorraine worked at Rubicam College, AAA, Monsanto and Falstaff. Hobbies and interests: playing the pump organ and piano, traveling, singing in choir, dancing, bridge, sewing, gardening, stock market, reading, and volunteer work. She was a woman of integrity and a faithful servant to Christ. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. Services: No Visitation. Memorial Service 10 am Sat., July 20, 2013, Webster Groves Presbyterian Church, 45 W. Lockwood Ave, Webster Groves, MO 63119. A reception will follow in Fellowship Hall. Interment 11 am Fri. at North Prairie Cemetery in Hoyleton, IL. If desired, contributions may be made to Webster Groves Presbyterian Church Music Fund.
