Leinberger, Robert Charles 87, of Chesterfield, MO, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2013. Bob was born in Chicago, IL on July 11, 1925. The family moved to Omaha, NE where Bob began his love of baseball and golf. He graduated early from high school in order to join the Navy Air Corp. Another move brought him to St. Louis. Purdue University was his chosen college for further education where he graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering. In 1958, he started his own company as a sales engineer. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marilyn Fassen Leinberger, his three children, Pamela Leinberger of Mankato, MN, David Leinberger (Patty) of Granite Bay, CA and Lori Henry of Wilmington, NC; five adored grandchildren, Alexandra and Chandler Henry of Wilmington, NC and Alexander, twins Lauren and Oliver Leinberger of Granite Bay, CA, and his beloved dog and best friend J.R.. He is also survived by his two sisters, Adele Bender of Chesterfield, MO and Ruth Hiss of Lawrence, KS. He was an active member of Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church for 61 years, a proud member of Sigma Chi, the Engineer's Club, a Rotarian member and a 15 year docent at the St. Louis Zoo. He had a love for all sports, especially golf with an impressive collection of trophies. He enjoyed snow skiing in Colorado, and spending time with family and friends in Naples, FL. Services: A Memorial Gathering will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's memory to Ladue Chapel Presbyterian Church, 9460 Clayton Rd., St. Louis, MO 63124 or St. Luke's Hospice Services, 232 Woods Mill Rd., Chesterfield, MO 63017.
