Dec. 8, 1928-June 19, 2014. Carl was born in Brooklyn, New York to Muriel and Lt. Col. Carl Leipold, Sr (US Army). He was brother to Capt. Fred Leipold (US Navy). Beloved husband of Charlotte Leipold for nearly 67 years. Loving father of Carol Edwards and Curtis Leipold. Grandfather of Sherry Keyes, Larry Brooks, John Edwards and Jake Edwards. Great grandfather of 12. Carl served his country in the military for 34 yrs through

, Korea and Vietnam (where he did 2 tours of duty). He began hs military career in the Navy at age 15, discharged "underage" as a Seaman 2nd Class and joined the
. He was honorably discharged as a Sgt. to join the newly formed Air Force. There he served 32 yrs, 10 yrs of it was SAC Combat Crew duty. He was awarded the
among numerous other medals and commendations. Carl retired out of Beale AFB in 1977. He and Charlotte built their home in Cameron Park. After retirement Carl was elected to the EID Board where he served 8 yrs. He was also a civilian pilot and for most of his life his favorite hobby was building and flying RC planes. He was a member of numerous community organizations including Cameron Park Newcomers, SIRS and El Dorado SAMS.
