Carl W. McFall, 78, passed away on March 25, 2014, after a short illness. He was born on August 21, 1935, in Yreka, California, to Frank and Mazie McFall. He graduated from Etna High School in 1953 and enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation. He met his one true love, Elizabeth Greenwood, while stationed at March AFB, and they were married in 1956. Carl was in the Air Police during his 20-year service in the Air Force. On retirement from the Air Force, Carl was employed by the United States Postal Service, where he was a letter carrier and custodian until his retirement. Carl loved his family more than anything, his country, the American bald eagle, and the 49ers. He was also very proud to be an enrolled member of the Cherokee Nation. Survivors include his wife Elizabeth; his children, Gary (Sandra) McFall, Carlena (Craig) Tapella, and Jeff (Celeste) McFall; his grandchildren, Christopher (Jessica) McFall, Cameron Tapella and Chandler Tapella, and Alixandra McFall and Jordon McFall; his step-grandchildren, Robert, Chelsea, Julia, and John Merigan; his great grandchildren, Casey McFall, Cayden McFall, and Mason Jarvis; and his niece Maude Gordon. Carl was preceded in death by his parents and by his siblings, Chuck McFall, Cecile Davis, Callie Gordon, and Chet McFall. A memorial service will take place on April 12, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Jones Cemetery in Fort Jones, California.
