Our beloved Daniel Spence concluded his battle with cancer, surrounded by his family, on June 12th, 2013 at the age of 81. He was born November 7th, 1931, and was a long time resident of Sacramento and Orangevale. Daniel leaves behind a legacy centered around family and friends. He is survived by Mary, his beautiful wife and best friend of 36 years; sons Daniel 'Skip' Spence, Lloyd Harp; daughters Karen Saenz, Susan Welch, Debbie Caster; grandson (more like a son) Kevin Johnson; of course Punkie; as well as 21 grandchildren & 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by son Randy Spence.
Daniel was the successful business owner of Laminated Plastics, one of the first Formica counter top companies in Sacramento (also serving Reno, NV). He was a Charter member of the Elks Lodge, as well as a pilot, hunter, fisherman, camper & skier who loved the outdoors. He would say to all 'you work hard and you play hard' and he did just that to the very end. His kind, caring heart will be deeply missed. A memorial will be held at the Elks Lodge, 11440 Elks Circle, Rancho Cordova 95742 on Sunday, June 23rd at 2:00 P.M.
