WHALEY, Doris Irene
Passed away peacefully in her home on Feb. 25, 2014. She was born of Irish immigrants in the windy city, Chicago, on Dec. 21, 1928. Her father was a rascal and horse trainer. Her mother passed too young from breast cancer. Her adoring husband of 50 years - William (Ed) Whaley passed in 2004. Doris is survived by her four loving children and spouses: Denise (Leon); Daniel (Donis); Dennis (Jean); Doreen (Dave) and seven grandchildren, Fitzgerald, Angelica, Alexandria, Savannah, Max, Slaney and Trinity. She is also survived by her sister, Jean Petersen, of Florida and stepson Bill (Debra) of New Mexico. Doris was a legal secretary in Chicago, S.F. and Merced. She worked as a police dispatcher in Concord and even flipped burgers in the family business in Merced. She was a delight to all who knew her. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of her life: Mass, Saturday, March 29, 10:30am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clarksburg with a luncheon reception to follow.
