KIRK, George Alexander
February 2, 1924 - July 2, 2013
Went to be with his Lord.
George was born in Mendocino, California to Charles and Liela (Medcalf) Kirk of Piercy, CA. He was a member of the 'Greatest Generation' and served honorably in WWII as a tailgunner on a B-24 bomber, surviving 25 missions over Germany and France.
After the war he returned to Piercy in the Redwood Country of Northern California and married Patricia Heap, his wife of 66 years. Seeking more opportunity he moved his family to Sacramento where he graduated from the aeronautics program at Sacramento City College. George worked for many years in the aviation business at Sacramento's Executive Airport.
George is survived by his wife Patricia, children; Kathryn Pfeifer (Ray), Janice Poroli (David) and Paul Kirk (Patricia), 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
George was a good, kind and God fearing man who loved his family and friends. He and his laughter will be missed by family and friends. Per his request there will be no service. His ashes will be spread on the old family ranch near Peircy, California on the south fork of the Eel River.
