GUNNISON, Justin Cofran 'Mick'
Born in Ross, CA (Marin County) on December 9, 1919 and passing away of natural causes on June 23, 2013 at age 94, he leaves his devoted wife of 32 years, Francia; his sons Michael Rex, Eric Justin and grandson, Michael Justin Gunnison as well as three stepsons, Michael Leslie, Mark Lindsay and John Eric Stein.

After graduating from Tamalpais High School and Marin Junior College, he joined the Army Air Corps at age 20 and became a highly decorated veteran of the United States Air Force, achieving the rank of full Colonel at age 35. He saw active duty in World War II leading squadrons on 80 missions in P-51 Mustangs against the enemy in Sicily, Italy and North Africa as well as participating in the Korean and Vietnam conflicts and finished his career in the Air Rescue Service. He served his country with pride and distinction abroad and stateside and retired after 30 years.

He went on to a second career, joining Davis & Davis Realty Company as a Salesman/Broker/Office Manager and then moved to Coldwell Banker where he managed their Fair Oaks office until age 70.

He was a good father, a loving husband, a loyal friend and a proud American. He will be sorely missed and fondly remembered. Happy Landings, Mick!
