ANDERSON, Kenneth Dale
Passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 13, 2013 at the age of 84. During his last years of declining health and limited mobility he especially cherished the visits, cards, and calls from friends and family. As everyone remembers he did love to talk and looked forward to receiving visitors and mail.
Born in East Liverpool, Ohio on September 17, 1928, he was the eldest son of Homer Charles & Iva Fay Anderson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his younger brother, Harold and his eldest son, Kenneth Jr. He is survived by his wife, Georgene; his five children, Christopher, Cathy, Bernard, Cecilia and Margaret; his two sisters, June and Sue in Ohio; his six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Kenneth proudly served in the U. S. Navy on the geological survey ship USS Maury-AGS 16. After his discharge in 1948 he settled in California, moving to Sacramento in 1950. He worked as a survey party chief for the County of Sacramento for ten years and then worked for Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firms in the private sector until his retirement in 2001.
Kenneth was a member of Lt. Landsdale Post 67 Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, USS Maury AGS-16 Association, SIRS Golden Poppy Branch 50, and Retired Members of Operating Engineers Local Union No. 3.
