HENEGHAN, Leo Francis
Oct. 29, 1923 - Jan. 19, 2014
Leo F. Heneghan, 90, of Fair Oaks died at home surrounded by family on January 19, 2014.
Born in Jacksonville, IL, October 29, 1923. He graduated Illinois College in 1946, earned a Ph.D in chemistry from the University of Illinois in 1950. He joined Merck & Co., Inc., in 1950 and led research and development projects, retiring in 1986. In 1953, Leo married Lorraine Oberg; they celebrated their 60th anniversary last summer. They lived in California, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. After retiring, Leo and Lorraine returned to California to enjoy golf, travel, and family reunions. Leo served on the Board of the North Ridge Country Club. Leo is survived by his wife, Lorraine, children David and Susan Bertelsen-Heneghan of Mill Valley, CA., Doug and Janet Heneghan of Chagrin Falls, OH, Ann and Kevin Klinefelter of Sierra Paradise, CA, Elizabeth and David Ondaatje of Los Angeles, CA, and ten grandchildren. A memorial mass at Divine Savior Catholic Church in Orangevale will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014, at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Loaves & Fishes, P.O. Box 13495, Sacramento, CA 95813.
