Born July 6, 1931 in Jersey City, NJ and passed away on September 5, 2013 in Sacramento, California. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary A. Dramis and his parents Samuel Dramis and Anna LaFante. Nick is survived by his wife, Nancy Smith-Dramis and his children, Nicholas M. Dramis, Annemarie Hildebrand (William), Rebecca Blumenstein (Gary) and Samuel Dramis, 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
He was an Army paratrooper who served in The Korean War with the 187th Regimental Combat Team (Airborne). After discharge from the Army he settled in Sacramento. A lifelong businessman, he was active in Rotary and community affairs. Nick was a historian, interested in military and western American history, and the author of several books. In his later years he became very active with the Rakkasans, a military veteran's group and a spokesman for veterans throughout Northern California. There will be a rosary on Sept. 11 at 6PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1333 58th St., Sacramento, California. The funeral mass will be on Sept. 12 at 11:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church followed by interment at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, Dixon, CA.
