GILMORE, Richard L.
Born Aug. 25, 1924. Passed away, Wed. May 28, 2014, 3 months shy of his 90th Birthday. Survived by his wife of 66 years, Sybil, daughters Linda and Joyce, 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, sisters Letty Irwin and Gini Bailey. Preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Consie Gilmore. Lifelong resident of Sacramento. Graduated from C.K. McClatchy High School, class of 1942. Retired from AT&T with 38 years service. Richard served in the United States Navy, Submarine Service (USS Tautog and USS Cochino) during WWII. Richard's hobbies included woodworking (specializing in clocks, inlayed card tables, coffee tables and assorted projects.) Richard was a long time member of The Pioneers of America (Associated with AT&T), served as an organist for Elks Lodge No. 6 for 14 years. No services will be held per Richard's request.
