McNAIRM, Jr., Robert B.
Born January 1, 1919 and passed away Nov. 13, 2013 after a brief illness. Was predeceased by parents and brother Jackson McNairn and sister Clara R. Nichols. Survived by wife Barbara and daughter Catherine Hutchinson of Redding and nephew Dr. Robert McNairn of Chico and relatives residing in other areas.
A member of a local pioneer family and educated locally at the University of Oregon. He was recruited from Oregon by the Army Air Corps for pilot training and graduated from Kelly Field Texas Class 41-C. He attained the rank of Major and flew B-24s and B-29s and after discharge in 1945 remained in the Reserve as a Lt Colonel. He owned and managed a hardware store for six years and then founded and managed Sutter Personnel Agency for the next 32 years until retirement. In this he was responsible for the placement of many thousands in their job search. He was active in many clubs and civic affairs and a member of the Rotary Club of Sacramento for over 40 years. He was very outdoor active and fished the western states and Mexico and Alaska and for salmon from his boat in Sausalito and Ft Bragg. He and his wife enjoyed foreign travel and also became a fine land and seascape artist.
He wishes no services be held and remembrances be to the Boy Scouts, The Salvation Army or Shriners Hospitals or your choice.
