Bob was born on May 22, 1931, in Sacramento, and passed away from lung cancer on May 23, 2014. He is survived by his companion Pat Compton; his daughters Lori (Jim) Edington and Jane Klose; grandchildren Crystle, Brian, Britney, Robert and Kayla; and great grandchildren Christopher and Dalyla. He is also survived by his adopted Panamanian daughter Norela Laboy and her children (his grandchildren) Valerie and David. Bob was predeceased by his wife Margaret and his son Mike. Bob graduated from McClatchy High School in 1950, where he played football. He was a proud Marine who served his country from 1952-54. In 1961, Bob joined the Sacramento Fire Department where he stayed until he retired in 1986. During his career Bob promoted to Engineer and was one of the first trained to operate the Sacramento Firebird. During his career as a firefighter he always maintained secondary employment as a glazier. In 1981, he opened Bob Tozier Glass and Screen where he worked full time once he retired from the fire department. Bob will be remembered as a man who loved his family and friends, a compassionate man, a man with a great strength of character, for his amazing ability to fix anything, and for his love of this country. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, June 9, at 10:00 a.m. at George L. Klumpp, Chapel of Flowers, 2691 Riverside Blvd, Sacramento. Burial immediately following at East Lawn Cemetery, 4300 Folsom Blvd. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to UC Davis Hospice, Health Sciences Development, 4900 Broadway, Suite 1150, Sacramento, CA 95820.
