VANCE, Ruth Jean
(nee Puck)
Was born August 30, 1939 in Moline, IL. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Eugenie Puck, Davenport, IA. Survivors include her sister, Vicki Robinson (Ross) of Sacramento, CA, daughters Shawn D'Alesandro (Michael) of Citrus Heights, CA, and Heather Jenkins (James) of Seattle, WA, grandsons Michael Jr. and Zachary D'Alesandro, granddaughters Sarah and Emily Jenkins, nephew Ross Robinson Jr. (Molly) of San Francisco CA, grand-nephew Ross III, grand-niece Maud and cousins George Theunen, Bettendorf, IA, Linda Favero (Richard) Las Vegas, NV and Charles Isaacson (Kathy) Shawnee, KS and their son Eric. Ruth received her undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa and Master's degree from California University of Pennsylvania. She retired from the Sacramento Unified School District in 2002 after teaching in Normal, IL and Perryopolis, PA. Upon retirement she enjoyed seasonal employment with See's Candy and served on the House staff for the Sacramento Community Theater, Memorial Auditorium and Community Center. Ruth was an avid lover of the arts and, in lieu of flowers, requests donations be sent in her name to PBS, Sacramento Philharmonic, Sacramento Ballet and/or Opera.
