Victor Borgman, much loved husband of Jan, father of Mike, Gary and step-son Chris, passed away at home on Thursday June 19 at the age of 93. On Feb. 26, 1921 Vic was born in Gridley to Augusta (Schwall) and Ben Borgman. After graduating from Grant Union High School, Vic opened his first auto body repair shop. During WWII, after a course of Air Force study concentrated on the Sperry bombsight, Vic was stationed in England with a B-17 heavy bombardment ground support group. After the war, Vic married Enid Bolles, the mother of his two sons Kenneth Michael (Christina) and Gary Francis (Susan). In 1947 he started Arden Body And Paint Shop which he operated until 1968. Upon selling the body shop he started a new business, Capitol Jeepers Supply, selling 4-wheel drive vehicles and Jeep repair parts. Retiring in 1986, Vic turned his business over to his son Gary. Vic was a past president of Carmichael Rotary Club and was the longest serving member of that organization. After their marriage in 1993, Vic and Jan designed and built their home in Chicago Park where Vic pursued various interests such as beekeeping and wine making. Vic is survived by his wife Jan, his sons and grandchildren, Kara, Jim, and Jeff Borgman as well as Marley and Madeline Kurpies. He is also survived by brothers Norman, John and Ron and sister Judy Scheal. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday June 28, at 1 PM, at the family home in Chicago Park, CA. Donations can be made to Carmichael Rotary Club, or Hospice of the Foothills.
