COPELAND, Wallace Lynn
86, passed away after a brief illness on February 14, 2013 in Rocklin, CA. Wallace was born on January 31, 1927 in New Jersey, the eldest of four children born to Lynn and Mary (Maroney) Copeland. Wallace was preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years, Mary Ailene Copeland, and is survived by sons Jere Copeland of Pollock Pines and Mark Copeland of Roseville; daughters-in-law Desiree and Priti; grandson Thomas Copeland of Vallejo, CA; and brother, Larry Copeland of Texas.
Wallace was a WWII veteran, having served in the Navy off the coast of Japan near the end of the war. Wallace graduated from Peabody Teachers college, now part of Vanderbilt University, in 1948 with a Masters in Music and later obtained his Masters in Library Science from UC Berkeley. Wallace's career was in education where he began as teacher and retired as the Principal of the Adult Education School in Hayward, CA. Wallace and Mary moved to Roseville in 2006 where they enjoyed the last years of their retirement.
Wallace was much loved and will be missed by his family and friends. A private internment service will be held by the family.
