Wayne was born 11/6/1936 in Binghamton, NY, and died 4/8/2014 in Sacramento of pneumonia. He received an A.B. in English Literature from Duke University, a M.T.S. from Harvard University and a Doctorate in New Testament Theology from St. Andrews University, Scotland. He was ordained a minister in the United Church of Christ in 1961. From 1961-62 he served as chaplain to foreign students at the Technical University of Aachen, Germany. He was a minister in churches in North Rush, NY, Gloversville, NY, Robbinsdale, MN, Auburn, CA, and Redmond, WA. While in Robbinsdale MN, he was adjunct professor of preaching at United Theological Seminary, New Brighton, MN. In retirement he worked as an ombudsman for senior residential care facilities and as a massage therapist. He is survived by Hannelore, his wife of 51 years, son Paul (Sarah) of Minneapolis, MN, daughter Katharine Larson (Chaz) of Waconia, MN, grandchildren Emma and Jack Larson, Gerhardt, Keegan, Oskar and Kaisja Robinson, and brother Gary (Mae) of Oostburg, WI. A memorial service will be held on June 8th at Robbinsdale United Church of Christ, Robbinsdale, MN.
