Arnold E. Harris

SALISBURY - Mr. Arnold Eugene Harris, age 50, affectionately called "Sleepy," of West Kerr Street, passed Monday, Jan. 13, 2014, at W.G. "Bill" Hefner VA Medical Center.

Mr. Harris was a graduate of Myers Park High School, Charlotte, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

He previously worked at W.G. "Bill" Hefner Medical Center.

He was a member of Progressive Outreach Ministries where he was in training for Deaconship.

Survivors are his wife, Ramona Lee Steele Harris of the home; son Nevada Steele, Hickory; daughter Quintia Harris, Salisbury; brothers Randall Harris, Harold Harris and Brian Harris, all of Charlotte; sisters Shirley Davis, Jacksonville, Fla., Lynette Harris, Charlotte, and Natasha Jones, both of Charlotte; five grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services: Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday with visitation at 2 p.m. at the W.G. Hefner Medical Center Chapel with Rev. Ethel Bamberg officiating and Rev. Nesbit Mills assisting.

Arrangements are entrusted to Hairston Funeral Home Inc. of Salisbury.
