Carolyn L. Lane

SALISBURY - Carolyn Ruth Lowman Lane, 59, of Salisbury, passed away on Sunday, July 7, 2013, at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House in Salisbury.

Carolyn was born Dec. 14, 1953, in Rowan County, a daughter of the late D.C. and Myrtle Leonard Lowman.

Carolyn was a 1972 graduate of East Rowan High School and earned an Associates Degree from Rowan-Cabarrus Community College. Carolyn worked for Rowan Regional Medical Center and was a member of St. Luke's Reformed Church and the Living In Pink Breast Cancer Support Group.

She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. Carolyn enjoyed racing, loved to travel and adored spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by an infant sister.

Carolyn is survived by her husband of over 37 years, Tommy Lane; son Zeb Lane and wife Rachel of Baltimore, Md.; daughters Jennifer Reed and husband Kevin of Mooresville, Brandi Barnhardt and husband Chad of China Grove and Alisha Watters of Columbia, S.C.; brothers Carless Lowman of Salisbury and Leonard Lowman of New Orleans, La.; sister Nadine Potts and husband David of Salisbury; grandchildren Shasta, Kamrey, Kaleigh, Sterling, Lil Kevin, Owen, Zaiden, Matthew and Riley Corinn; great-grandchildren Charles, Mykel-Tomas.

Service: There will be a Memorial Service Saturday, July 13 at 3 p.m. at St. Luke's Reformed Church conducted by Pastor John Schell and Pastor Johnny Boggs.

Visitation: The family will receive friends at St. Lukes Reformed Church on Saturday, July 13 from 2 to 3 p.m.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, 720 Grove St., Salisbury NC 28144; or Living in Pink Breast Cancer Support Group, c/o Vicki Rhyne, 1009 Overhill Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.
