Claude Emerson Davis

MOUNT ULLA - Claude Emerson Davis, 88, of Umberger Road, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 31, 2012, at Sherrill's Ford Hospice House.

Born July 25, 1924, in High Point, he was the son of the late Roy Emerson and Sara Cooper Davis. Mr. Davis retired after owning a local insurance agency. He was a World War II veteran having served as a Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy onboard LCI (L) 507.

Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Lee Davis, and a sister, Merle Davis Deaton.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Brown Davis; sons Ron Davis and wife Sharon of Huntersville and Gary Davis and wife Cindy of Sandy Springs, Ga.; sister Sara "Tootsie" Davis Howard of North Wilkesboro; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Service and Visitation: A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 5 at Triplett United Methodist Church, Mooresville, with Rev. W. Michael Holder and Rev. William W. Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. preceding the service.

Memorials: May be made to Catawba Regional Hospice or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research.
