Daniel 'Dan' Rollings Sr.

KANNAPOLIS - Mr. Daniel "Dan" L. Rollings Sr., 81, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Mr. Rollings was born on April 20, 1932 in Chesterfield, S.C., a son of the late Henry Elmore Rollings and Lyndel Birdie Moore Rollings Hall Wilson. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Dan owned and operated Rollings Automotive. Prior to opening his own business, he was the Chief Mechanic for Town & Country Ford in Charlotte for many years. He attended Jackson Park Pentecostal Holiness Church and was an avid deer hunter.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Daniel L. Rollings Jr.; sister Mary Mechum; and brother Henry "Junior" Rollings.

Mr. Rollings is survived by his wife, Ginny Waggoner Rollings; daughter Sherry Lynne Rollings Eudy and husband Alvin of Seymour, Tenn.; son Andrew Detwiler and wife Holly of Thurmont, Md.; two sisters, Sara "Dot" Lee Schwartz of Durham and Mildred "Mickie" Davis of Texas; three brothers, Lee Rollings of Landis, James "Jimmy" Rollings and Charlie Rollings, both of Texas; granddaughter Christy Rollings Strickland and husband Brandon of Kannapolis; four great-grandchildren, Aleah Bebber, Hunter Sellers, Brooke Strickland and Aiden Strickland; step-grandson Kenny Eudy and wife Amy; step-great-grandson Austin Eudy.

He is also survived by his extended family, Jill, Jessica, Kandi and Zack Stirewalt, Margaret Huffman, Sandra Waggoner, Butch Waggoner and wife Kenya and Lisa Roseman and husband Eddie.

Service: A memorial service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Friday, May 24 at Lady's Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Jimmy Barnhill will officiate.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 4 to 5:15 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
