SALISBURY - David Franklin Hillard, 53, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2013 at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center.
Born Dec. 22, 1959, he was the son of the late Peggy Ann McCulloh and Donald Gray Hillard.
A disabled veteran of the U.S. Army, David had worked at Freightliner since 1995.
Those left to cherish his memory are wife, Cynthia Malone Hillard, whom he married on Nov. 27, 1987; brothers, Gray Hillard of Woodleaf, Mark Hillard of Mocksville; sister, Donna Stevens (Roger) of Woodleaf; nephew, Staff Sargent J.C. Hillard of Fort Benning, Ga.; great-nephew, Carson Hillard and his dogs, Mister Smith and The Bee's Knees.
Visitation: 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at Bethel Lutheran Church, 355 E. Ridge Rd., Salisbury, NC 28144.
Service: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013 at Bethel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carroll Robinson officiating.
Burial: 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144. The Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard will perform military rites.
