SALISBURY - George William Napoleon, age 76, born June 29, 1937, in Bennettsville, S.C., departed his life Monday Sept. 30, 2013, at NorthEast Medical Center in Concord.
A son of the late Fleet and Pauline Drayton Napoleon, he was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
He retired from the School Safety Division of the New York Police Department and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church.
He leaves cherished memories to his devoted wife, Carolyn Long Napoleon; sons George (Joann) Napoleon Jr., Antoine (Yolanda) Napoleon, Alonzo (Chalese) Holland, Edgrick (Pamula) Holland; daughters Joann (Andre) Coward, Desiree (George) Hannibal; sister Fleetha (Nathaniel) Scott; aunt Bessie Alford; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Service: Funeral service is Monday, Oct. 7, at 12 p.m. at Jerusalem Baptist Church. Burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Salisbury National Cemetery.
Visitation: The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Monday at the church.
