Harold 'Dewey' Cooper

GRANITE QUARRY - Harold "Dewey" Lee Cooper, 79, of Granite Quarry, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Autumn Care of Salisbury.

He was born June 27, 1934, in Rowan County, the son of Pearl Wilson Cooper Kepley and the late George E. Cooper. Harold was a graduate of Boyden High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He was a deputy for the Rowan County Sheriff's Department and a member of Community Baptist Church.

Preceding him in death were his brother, James "Bud" Cooper and sisters Mary Parker, Louise "Tootsie" Parker and Willie Mae "Bill" Morris.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Moore Cooper; sons Shaun Cooper and Brian Cooper, both of Granite Quarry; grandson Aaron Cooper; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 1-2 p.m. Monday, June 23 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines, 4125 Franklin Community Center Road, Salisbury, NC 28144.

Service: 2 p.m. Monday, June 23 at Rowan Memorial Park Chapel in the Pines with the Rev. Gene Beaver officiating. Law enforcement honors conducted by the Rowan County Sheriff's Department.
