Henry Clay Gaddy

KANNAPOLIS - Mr. Henry Clay Gaddy, 98, passed away Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at Carolinas Medical Center-NorthEast in Concord.

Mr. Gaddy was born Oct. 4, 1914 in Anson County, a son of the late John Stacy Gaddy and Jonie Cagle Gaddy. He was veteran of the U.S. Navy and was best known for being a barber and wearing bowties.

Henry was a master beekeeper and loved his gardening. He was a Past President of the Barber's Association and the Beekeeper's Association.

He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, a member of the Rev. J.L. Smith Sunday School Class and a member of Brookdale Baptist Church for many years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Turner Gaddy; three brothers; and two sisters.

Mr. Gaddy is survived by two daughters, Martha Helms of Concord and Ann Isenhour and husband Eddie of Gastonia; son Eddie Gaddy and wife Marie of Oak Ridge; three granddaughters, Laurie Beaver, Hayley Gaddy and fiance Cliff Carmichael and Caroline Hager and husband Seth; and great-granddaughter Lilly Beaver.

Service: A funeral service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 31 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Rev. Judy White will officiate. Interment will follow at Carolina Memorial Park in Kannapolis.

Visitation: The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Lady's Funeral Home.
