James W. Bibb

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. - James Wesley Bibb, age 79 of Lenoir City, Tenn., passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013.

Jim was born Sept. 13, 1934, in Salisbury, N.C. He graduated from Boyden High School in Salisbury in 1952 and from the United States Naval Academy in 1957. He served in the Navy from 1957-1961.

After his Naval service, Jim worked for the Museum of Atomic Energy in Oak Ridge, Tenn. He later joined Nucleus Incorporated in Oak Ridge as a corporate officer, working there until his retirement.

Jim was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Annapolis, Md., and was also a long-time member of the Elks Lodge in Oak Ridge. He was active in the United States Naval Academy Alumni Association.

Jim was a life-long boater, enjoying many years of fellowship and activities with fellow boaters at Ft. Loudon Marina, who knew him as "Captain Jim."

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude R. Bibb and Ann Carter Bibb of Salisbury, N.C.

He is survived by his sister, Virginia Smith of Melrose, Fla. Bibb of Knoxville, Tenn.; and by several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by very special friends, Sue and Alvin Holloway of Farragut, Tenn.
