SALISBURY - James Bernerd Mikolajski, 59, of Salisbury, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014, at his home surrounded by family and close friends.
James was born on July 28, 1954, in Saginaw, Mich., a son of the late Bruno and Betty Patterson Mikolajski.
James was a graduate of Arthur Hill High School and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He most recently worked as a plasma technician for Power Curbers. He was a member of Wittenberg Lutheran Church and AMVETS Post 460 in Salisbury.
James enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting, and loved spending time with his friends and family.
James is survived by his wife, Charlotte M. Mikolajski; son Gary Lynn Mikolajski and wife Sonya of Lehigh Acres, Fla.; daughter Sherrie Whittington of Rockwell; grandchildren Alexx, Alicia, Kierston, Jordan, Samantha and Riley; brothers Martin Mikolajski and wife Lucy, John Mikolajski, Mike Mikolajski and wife Vickie, Bernie Mikolajski and wife Lori and Bob Mikolajski and wife DJ; sisters Pat and husband Ralph, Ada and husband Ken, Mary and husband Jack, Beth and husband Dale and Lucy and husband Tim.
Arrangements: There will be a Memorial Service at Wittenberg Lutheran Church Saturday, July 5 at 1 p.m. conducted Rev. Kim Trabold. Military Honors will be provided by the Rowan County Veterans Honor Guard.
