Larry W. Brister

HARMONY - Larry Wayne Brister, 66, of Harmony, passed away Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at VA Hospice in Salisbury.

He was born March 16, 1947, in Poteet, Texas, the son of the late Verna Marie Jennings and Tom Brister. Larry was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army and was a contractor in the construction business.

He was a great gardener. Larry loved NASCAR, the Dallas Cowboys and especially his grandbabies.

Preceding him in death were his parents, Tom and Marie Brister, and brother Steve Brister.

Those left to cherish his memory are sons Kevin Brister (Jennifer) of Mocksville and Tim Brister (Tiffany) of Winston-Salem; daughter Aimee Brister of Pfafftown; brothers Robert Brister, Danny Brister and Tommy Brister (Debbie), all of Texas; sisters Verna Fowler (Terry), Earlene Cook (John) and Carolyn Ray (Charlie), all of Texas; grandchildren Cali Brister and Austin Brister.

Service: 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19 at Salisbury National Cemetery with the VA Chaplain, Chris Hill, officiating. Full military honors by the Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
