Raford Thomas Avery

SALISBURY - Mr. Raford Thomas Avery, 55, of N. Lee St passed Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012 at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

He was born Jan. 8, 1957 in Rowan County to The late James "Doc"Avery and Margaret" Mag" Johnson Avery. He was a 1975 graduate of West Rowan High School and was a Veteran of The U.S. Army. He was last employed by Walmart and he was affiliated with the Church of God.

He was preceeded in death by brothers, James Cecil Avery and Jerry Wayne Avery, Sr.

He is survived by his brother, Rodney (Vera) Darnell Avery of Jacksonville, Fla.; sisters, Sarah Avery Gaither of Salisbury, Mildred (Ratino) Avery Lewis of Holly Springs and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Visitation: 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel of Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. and at other times at the home of his sister, Sarah Avery Gaither, 210 Sunset Drive Apt. 311 Salisbury.

Funeral: 12 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012 A.R. Kelsey Memorial Chapel of Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. Rev. Tommy Knox, officiating

Burial: 12 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at the U.S. National Cemetery, Statesville Blvd. with Military Rites by the Rowan Honor Guard.

Noble and Kelsey Funeral Home, Inc. is serving the Avery Family.
