NORRIS, Tenn. - Ralph Jackson Earnhardt, 78, passed away peacefully at home in Norris on June 26, 2014.
He was born Sept. 17, 1935, in Salisbury, N.C., to Katharine Virginia Forrest and Ralph Vestor Earnhardt, who preceded him in death.
Ralph was a graduate of the Class of 1954, Boyden High School in Salisbury. He then served in the U.S. Navy for four years on Icebreaker AGB1 in the Arctic and Antarctic. He was also a special agent in the police department for the Southern Railroad/ Norfolk Southern before retiring.
Ralph was of the Lutheran faith and attended Norris United Methodist Church. His love of nature, the outdoors, fishing and his German shepherds gave him much enjoyment. He was a lifetime NRA member and kept in touch with his classmates from Boyden High School.
He is survived and will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Rosa C. Earnhardt; the Cheung family; and many cousins and friends.
Service: A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Tuesday, July 1 at 4 p.m. at Norris UMC, with Pastor Wayne Hedrick officiating.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Ralph's memory to either the Norris Animal Shelter or Norris UMC.
