Richard Wayne Bullard

MEBANE - Richard Wayne Bullard, Sr., was born March 30, 1937, in Durham Co., the son of William Oscar and Ruth Breeze Bullard. Mr. Bullard attended Monroe High School and Wingate Jr. College High School and graduated from Lenoir Rhyne College in 1961. He served in the US Navy from 1954-1958.

He resided in Durham from 1961-2005, Ashe Co., and Mebane from 2005 to present. He worked in the Research Triangle Park at Chemstrand, Union Carbide, Rhone-Poulenc and Bayer Crop Sciences.

Mr. Bullard was an avid rockhound, and past President of the Central NC Mineral Club and managed the Club's Gem & Mineral Show in Durham.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Safrit Bullard of China Grove; two sons, Richard W. Bullard, Jr. and wife Mary Helen of Youngsville and William L. Bullard and wife Ann of China Grove; daughter, Dawn Bullard Salvatore and husband Benjamin of Mebane; 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Service: He was a founding member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church, Research Triangle Park, where the service of remembrance will be held on Saturday, Jan. 26th, at 3 p.m.
