Robert Malcolm Doyle

SALISBURY - Robert Malcolm Doyle, 87, of Salisbury passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on June 8, 1927, in Lewistown, Pa., he was the son of the late James McFadden Doyle and Ruth Elizabeth Bowers.

Robert was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Salisbury for 25 years. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Robert enjoyed trains, playing golf and the beach.

The most important things to Robert were his family and their happiness. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Constance "Coni" M. Jones, who passed away April 28, 2014; two brothers; and one sister.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Eva Wareheim Doyle; daughter Patricia D. Lewis and husband Fred of Waldorf, Md., her sons, George J. Roy, IV and fiancee Laura, Jared D. Roy and Patrick J. Roy; great-grandson Koa A. Roy; son Robert M. Doyle, II and wife Laura of Kennesaw, Ga., and their daughters, Heather N. Doyle, Hollie E. Doyle and Aubrey P. Doyle; son-in-law Edward H. Jones of Fleming Island, Fla., and his children, Christopher R. Hutchinson-Jones and wife Crissy and Courtney M. Jones.

Visitation: 11-11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12 at St. John's Lutheran Church Chapel, 200 W. Innes St., Salisbury, 28144.

Services: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, July 12 at St. John's Lutheran Church Chapel with Pastor David Nelson officiating. Military honors conducted by Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the , 4701 Hedgemore Drive, Suite 810, Charlotte 28209-2280; or the Men's Ministry at St. John's Lutheran Church, 200 W. Innes St., Salisbury, NC 28144.
