Ronnie Leon Johnson

SALISBURY - Ronnie Leon Johnson, 65, of Salisbury, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.

He was born Sept. 10, 1947, in Rowan County, the son of the late Leon Johnson and Ruby Johnson McCarthy.

A graduate of South Rowan High School, Ronnie was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in Vietnam. He retired from the United States Post Office.

Ronnie enjoyed building motorcycles and watching his grandchildren play sports.

Those left to cherish his memories are son Jason (Gina Meismer) Johnson of Salisbury; daughter Angela (Rick Howell) Null of Salisbury; sisters Barbara (Will) Fesperman of Kannapolis and Glenda (Bob) Gosnell of Lake Tillery; grandchildren Allison (Robert) Hodges of Salisbury, Ashley (Michael) Melton of New York, Josie Johnson, Isaiah Null and J.D. Howell.

Visitation: 9:30-10:30 a.m. Monday, March 11 at Haven Lutheran Church Fellowship Hall, 207 W. Harrison St., Salisbury NC 28147. Casual attire requested.

Graveside Service: 11 a.m. Monday March 11 at Salisbury National Cemetery, 501 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, NC 28144. The VA chaplain will officiate. Full military honors will be accorded by Lyerly Volunteer Honor Guard.
