Toney Ann Johnson

SALISBURY - Toney Ann Johnson, 34, of Salisbury passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at her residence.

Ms. Johnson was born March 18, 1980, in Rowan County, the daughter of Emilia DeLuca Johnson and Frederick Johnson of Spencer.

She was a graduate of East Rowan High School, Montreat College and received her Masters of Divinity from Princeton University. Toney was an exchange student and studied in Europe.

She worked at Strategic Interventions in Yadkinville as an advocate for those who were unable to help themselves. She touched many lives in crisis counseling and always looked for inspiration from God. She attended High Rock Community Church.

Toney was an inspiration to everyone she knew. She had a passion for life and an unyielding faith in God. Her ability to see the good in all things inspired others. That goodness and peace she passed to her son, and her spirit and these gifts will live forever through him.

Those left to cherish her memory, in addition to her parents, are her son, Rodney Gavi' Wallace of the home; sisters Stacy Johnson Keifer (Joseph Norman Snell) of Wilmington and Laury Johnson Gobble (Riley); and nephews Jake and Joshua Gobble of Salisbury.

Visitation: 12-1 p.m. Wednesday at High Rock Community Church West on Jake Alexander Boulevard.

Service: 1 p.m. Wednes-day at High Rock Commun-ity Church West conducted by Pastors Chris Shelton and Kevin House. Burial will follow at City Memorial Park in Salisbury.

Arrangements: In lieu of flowers, the family will be accepting donations for a memorial trust set up for Toney's son.
